You find yourself pitted against insurmountable odds in a booby-trapped castle. You face off against Bowser and send him into the lava-filled depths below. And your reward? Some weird mushroom dude telling you that the Princess is in another castle. Well, great, we did all that for nothing. Thanks a lot. That quote makes this the most memorable Mario moment. Even the recently released Xbox Live Arcade classic Braid lampoons it.
