- In science, you are what you write. So, cavalier won’t do.
- Style (Strunk & White), Structure (RA Day), Spirit (Ramon y Cajal)
- Good writing cannot overcome bad science.
- Good science demands strong writing
- Use definite, specific, concrete language
- Use parallel construction for coordinate ideas
- Emphasis position of a sentence is the end
- Avoid sentences in loose succession; instead use expectation: AB, BC, CD…..
- In grants, write as if reader is tired and may stop.
- Find a style that you like. Analyze it. Emulate it.
