Hinterland of Badan JiLin Desert, Inner Mongolia

Badain Jaran Desert in west Inner Mongolia, is the third largest desert in China. it covers an area of about 44,300 square kilometers, elevation 1400-1600m, 2,040m peak. "Badanjilin" is a transliteration of the Mongolian, "Badan" evolved from "Badai", hard to inspect that from a name of man or place. Ancient legend had a man called Badai lived there; "Jilin" meaning that there are two : one, It is from the Mongolian "philosophy for" and meaning the hell, Another said it is referring numeral 60 ---- this large desert lakes.
