Filling out a blank cheque seems like it should be a simple process. However, in age of debit cards, automatic teller machines and on-line banking, the need to write cheques is disappearing. There are still places where cash or cheque is the only accepted form of payment; housing rentals being a key example.
How to Write a Cheque

- Numerical amount

How to Write a British Cheque
- Write the date on the cheque.
- Fill in the name of the payee (to whom the payment has to be made) next to “Pay."
- Fill the amount of the cheque.
- Cross the cheque.
- Rectify your mistake in case you enter wrong date, name or amount on your cheque.
- Sign the cheque properly at the bottom right corner.
