If you’re ever in a situation where your phone is giving you problems because you got caught in the rain, or dropped it in the sink or toilet, here are steps you can try.

Turn the device off and do not charge it
Drip dry and shake off as much water as possible
Dismantle whatever you can
Cover your phone in a bowl of rice
Draw it away with a vacuum cleaner held over the affected areas for up to 20 minutes in each accessible area

remove the battery immediately without even hesitating to turn off the power.
dry off the cell phone with an absorbent towel as best as you can.
If that isn’t pure such as a beverage or in salt water, rinse the phone off with fresh water once you have removed the battery.
If you drop your cell phone in liquid that isn’t pure water, you may want to try giving it an alcohol bath.
