China's greatest Giant Buddha Statues

Most of the ancient Chinese people believe in Buddhism, so far from ancient construction of a number of giant Buddha statues.So these are quite good tourist destinations in China.

Leshan Giant Buddha in Sichuan

Leshan Giant Buddha is in Emei Mountain, east Sichuan Province. It's 71 metres high, which is built in Tang Dynasty.

Mengshan Giant Buddha in Shanxi

Mengshan Giant Buddha is in south-east of Taiyuan city, Shanxi province. It's seem 200 feets high which is a bit higher than Leshan Giant Buddha.

Yungang Giant Buddha in Shanxi

Yungang Grottoes is in Datong city, Shanxi province, and this is hugest Buddhas among the 50 thousands ones in Yungang Grottoes.

Longmen Giant Buddha in Henan

Longmen Giant Buddha is 17.4m high in Luoyang city, Henan province.

Heaven temple Buddha in Hongkong

The buddhas above are all ancient stone statues, then let's go for some new ones made.

This should be the most familiar Buddha for foriegners course its location is Lantau Island, Hongkong, which is 26.4 metres high.

Nanshan Kuanyin in Sanya

This is the newest Buddha built in China, which is located in the beautiful Sanya, Hainan Island. It's a statues of Goddess of Mercy which is called Kuanyin in Chinese.

South Chinese believe in Kuanyin mostly so there is another giant Buddha in Nanhai, Guangdong province. Nanhai Kuanyin statues seems so huge and sacred at the top of Xiqiao Moutain, which is great destination to go.
