veryone complains about their boss, it seems.  Listening to people talk, it's amazing that there is such a collection of stupidity in bosses.

However, what I've found is that most employees wouldn't recognize a good boss until it's too late.  As in, "Jim had enough of your whining, so this is your new boss Ult the Viking."
