1. You love Sony. There is a reason why Sony has a 70% market share. They are the best at what they do.
2. You are stupid - One guy in NYC camped out for five days, then sold his
immediately for $2500. Let's see, that's about a $1900 profit. But he was in line for 120 hours or more = abt. $16/hr.
3. You are greedy and stupid - Some guy in Los Altos, CA plans to put his on eBay after sleeping outside a Best Buy for three days. See # 2.
4. You are stupid, greedy and need the practice - at taking the thing apart and then selling it. iSupply reports that a $600 console can be sold for parts at about $840. Let's see, three days camping, one day ripping it apart, another day finding a buyer, then shipping and handling....
5. You want a masterpiece. Sony did spend more money per console then they are worth...for now. But, ask that question some 100 million consoles later.
What do you think?
1. Two gunmen tried to rob people who were lined up to buy one of the console. One shopper got shot twice - chest and shoulder! Putnam, CT
2. Police arrested two people and threatened the rest of the crowd of shoppers with
Tasers - Fresno, CA
3. Shoppers trampled people when rushing a store - Fresno, CA
4. Police fired paint balls at a crowd of shoppers in Henrico, VA
5. Beautiful people in front...and ugly people in the back of the line - NYC
6. Wait a few weeks, and another 1.6 million are going to come on sale.
Okay, a Sony is a Sony. And there is a reason why Sony has a 70% market share. But, is it worth risking being robbed, trampled, tasered, paintballed and worst of all, called "Ugly?"
What do you think?
1. Who wants to camp outside a toy store on a sidewalk in a metropolitan area for days and still NOT know if you could buy the box? New York City![]()
2. Who wants to be associated with other nerds who would CHEER because someone beat them to the counter. Well, geeks can't run, so they have to cheer for others I guess.
3. Who wants to spend months working whatever job to save up money to buy the PS3 and be turned away.
4. Who wants to shell out $500-600 for a toy!? Everywhere.
5. Who wants to play live action figure and fight with a rowdy bunch at a super Wal-mart just to get turned away anyhow? Palmdale, CA
6. Who wants to wear a wristband saying "I'm gonna get my PS3?" - San Francisco
7. Who wants their name in a 'sacred scroll' so they can go to the pot, not smoke pot, and still get their machine? San Francisco
8. Who wants to spend the night in the freezing cold? Fargo, ND
9. Who wants to spend the night in heavy rain and freezing winds? Baltimore, MD
10. And who, for goodness sake would want to do any of the above and then resell their $500 toy for a profit of $1000 - $3000 within a month? Wait...that's not a reason to not buy it. Excuse me..I am going to get in line.
Sony dominates the game market with 70% share...and no doubt was quite anxioud to get their product out before Sunday when Nintendo's Wii goes on sale for half the price.
I'm not buying a PS3. Not now, not ever.
How about you?
Here are 15 reasons why Wii will win with wild ...okay, I can't think of any other wi starts...abandon against Sony's PS3
1. Wii has a remote controller that acts like a Wand. Well, it is a wand. It can swing like a tennis racket, fish, drum, orchestrate, and perhaps even do things magic wands can do...change pumpkins in to carriages and such.
2. Wii's owners are sticking to its fun-and-games roots. Remember Super Mario?
3. Wii's owners know that 200 million Game Boy buyers don't want to kill dragons, drive race cars and fight super dudes from throughout the world.
4. Wii's owners have some super dudes of their own - Donkey Kong, Kirby and Pokemon.
5. Nintendo DS, with its touch-panel screen is the fastest growing game machine EVER! Take that Sony.
6. Nintendo has a different variety of 'games' - caring for virtual pets, studying cooking recipes, doing brain teasers. Did some one say Sudoku?
7. Nintendo appeals to a larger audience - older people, women and other game button challenged people - like me.
8. Wii will expand the market pie, and be the first to take a bite out of it.
9. Wii costs half of the price of PS3 and less than Microsoft's Xbox.
10. Wii is likely to become the 2nd console of choice for all core gamers. Who wants to play just one type of game when you can play all of them?
11. Wii will have enough units to meet immediate demand and to satisfy those who are waiting for their PS3 to come.
12. Nintendo will make money off its Wii much faster than Sony will off its PS3. Thus Nintendon can put more into Wii upgrades and games sooner than Sony can think of a PS4.
13. Ninentendo makes its own games = more profits. Sony outsources its game making = even longer time to get a return on the PS3.
14. Owning a Wii sounds much cooler than owning a piss3.
15. Nintendo, which means 'trusting in luck' is likely to be luckier than PS3. And in the entertainment business, luck plays a much bigger role than many would like to admit.
Wii is going to make some serious inroads in the game market, not by taking Sony's share, but by increasing the size of the pie and taking that.
Soon, Sony will be eating its piece of the pie heart out.
